FEAR NOT, THE ANGEL SAID (GILLETTE)

 FEAR NOT, THE ANGEL SAID

#ArtOfHymning #Hymn #HymnsRetuned #FrosMusic

Tune: CALL TO CHRISTIANS
Meter: SMD
Text: Carolyn Winfrey Gillette, 1999
Music: Fr. J. Roel Lungay, 1994

1
"Fear not!" the angel said,
"God's joy is in the air!
Now go to Bethlehem and see
A newborn baby there.

2
A Savior, yet a child!
So young, and yet the Lord!"
God's grace astounds, God's love surrounds
This sinful, hurting world.

3
Fear not, you hungry child,
You homeless refugee,
You battered woman, burdened down —
God came to set you free.

4
For God's own Son was poor;
He cried and suffered, too.
God's grace astounds; God's love abounds
For people just like you.

5
Fear not when questions come:
"How can I know God's way?"
"Do my possessions weigh me down?"
"Can God change me today?"

6
For Jesus came to be
True bread that satisfies;
And in his birth, God touched the earth.
Christ saves, forgives, and guides.

7
Fear not, you church of Christ,
Distracted and distressed,
For long ago in troubled times,
Christ came, and we were blest.

8
Our Prince of Peace is born —
Our light, our life, our song!
In him we see our unity,
In him God makes us strong.

WHISPERS OF THE HEART

Meter:S.M.D.
Text: Edna Fontaine, 1995
Music: Fr. .J Roel Lungay, 1996

1
Today, Ithank you, Lord,
For all the joys you bring-
For rainbows in the sky-
For flowers in the Spring.

2
For warmth of gentle rain
That falls from up above
For wealth of little orayers
That fill my need for love

3
For friends who fail me not
When Iam in some need,
When my despair is plain to see,
Are there my soul to feed.

4
For warmth of gentle rain
That falls from up above -
For wealth of little prayers
That fill my need for love

IF, ON A QUIET SEA

Tune: CALL TO CHRISTIANS
Meter: 6 6 6 6
Text: Augustus M. Toplady, 1772, alt.
Music: Fr. J. Roel Lungay, 1994

1
If, on a quiet sea,
Toward Heav’n we calmly sail,
With grateful hearts, to Thee,
We’ll own the fav’ring gale.

2
But should the surges rise,
And rest delay to come.
Blest be the tempest storm,
Which drives us nearer home.

3
Soon shall our doubts and fears
All yield to Thy control;
Thy tender mercies shall illume
The midnight of the soul.

4
Teach us, in every state,
To make Thy will our own;
When joys of sense depart,
To live by faith alone.

5
If, on a quiet sea,
Toward Heav’n we calmly sail,
With grateful hearts, to Thee,
We’ll own the fav’ring gale.

6
But should the surges rise,
And rest delay to come.
Blest be the tempest storm,
Which drives us nearer home.

O TEACHER, DON'T YOU CARE?

 O TEACHER, DON'T YOU CARE?

#ArtOfHymning #Hymn #HymnsRetuned #FrosMusic

Tune: CALL TO CHRISTIANS
Meter: 6 6 8 4
Text: Carolyn Winfrey Gillette, 2012
Music: Fr. J. Roel Lungay, 1994

"O Teacher, don't you care?" the Lord's disciples cried.
"The waves are beating everywhere — We'll surely die!"
They called to him in dread, for mighty storms could kill.
Then Jesus spoke into the fury, "Peace! Be still!"

Lord, still the storm winds blow, and still we cry in fear:
We too are sinking, don't you know? Lord, are you here?
We seek to live your way, yet sorrows beat us down.
We feel alone and wonder: Where can peace be found?

Your church, your little boat, is struggling in the seas.
We question if we'll stay afloat in times like these.
The world is raging round; there's trouble everywhere.
When we are facing mighty storms, Lord, hear our prayer.

What strength and love you've shown! So calm your church's fear.
Remind us that we're not alone, for you are here.
And though the waves are strong and winds blow where they will,
Your peaceful presence in our lives is greater still.

THIS IS MY FATHER'S WORLD

 THIS IS MY FATHER’S WORLD

Tune: Call To Christians
Meter: SMD
Text: Maltbie Davenport Babcock, 1902
Music: Fr. J. Roel Lungay

1
This is my Father's world,
And to my listening ears
All nature sings, and round me rings
The music of the spheres.

2
This is my Father's world:
I rest me in the thought
Of rocks and trees, of skies and seas;
His hand the wonders wrought.

3
This is my Father's world,
The birds their carols raise,
The morning light, the lily white,
Declare their maker's praise.

4
This is my Father's world,
He shines in all that's fair;
In the rustling grass I hear Him pass;
He speaks to me everywhere.

5
This is my Father's world.
O let me ne'er forget
That though the wrong seems oft so strong,
God is the ruler yet.

6
This is my Father's world:
why should my heart be sad?
The Lord is King; let the heavens ring!
God reigns; let the earth be glad!

CROWN HIM WITH MANY CROWNS

 CROWN HIM WITH MANY CROWNS

Tune: CALL TO CHRISTIANS
Meter: SMD
Text: Matthew Bridges, 1851; Alt: Godfrey Thring, 1871
Music: Fr. J. Roel Lungay, 1994

1
Crown him with many crowns,
The Lamb upon his throne.
Hark! how the heav'nly anthem drowns
All music but its own.

2
Awake, my soul, and sing
Of him who died for thee,
And hail him as Thy matchless king
Through all eternity.

3
Crown him the Lord of life,
Who triumphed o'er the grave,
And rose victorious in the strife
For those He came to save;

4
His glories now we sing
Who died and rose on high,
Who died eternal life to bring,
And lives that death may die.

5
Crown Him the Lord of love;
Behold His hands and side,
Rich wounds, yet visible above,
In beauty glorified;

6
No angels in the sky
Can fully bear that sight,
But downward bends their burning eye
At mysteries so bright.

7
Crown him the Lord of years,
The potentate of time,
Creator of the rolling spheres,
Ineffably sublime.

8
All hail, Redeemer, hail!
For Thou hast died for me;
Thy praise shall never, never fail
Throughout eternity.

Tune: CALL TO CHRISTIANS
Meter: SMD
Text: James Armitage Robinson, 1858-1933, alt.
Music: Fr. J. Roel Lungay, 1994

1
'Tis good, Lord, to be here!
Your glory fills the night;
Your face and garments, like the sun,
Shine with unborrowed light.

2
'Tis good, Lord, to be here,
Your beauty to behold,
Where Moses and Elijah stand,
Your messengers of old.

3
Fulfiller of the past!
Promise of things to be!
We hail your body glorified,
And our redemption see.

4
Before we taste of death,
We see your kingdom come;
We long to hold the vision bright,
And make this place our home.

5
'Tis good, Lord, to be here!
Yet we may not remain;
But since you bid us leave this mount,
Come with us to the plain.

6
'Tis good, Lord, to be here!
Your glory fills the night;
Your face and garments, like the sun,
Shine with unborrowed light.

NOT WHAT MY HANDS HAVE DONE

Tune: CALL TO CHRISTIANS
Meter: SMD
Text: Horatius Bonar, 1864
Music: Fr. J. Roel Lungay, 1994
Piano Arr: TQ Solis, Jr.
Orchestration: Meo Mascariñas

1
Not what my hands have done
Can save my guilty soul;
Not what my toiling flesh has borne
Can make my spirit whole.

2
Not what I feel or do
Can give me peace with God;
Not all my prayers,
And sighs and tears
Can bear my awful load.

3
I bless the Christ of God;
I rest on love divine;
And with unfaltering lip and heart,
I call this Savior mine.

4
His cross dispels each doubt,
I bury in His tomb
My unbelief, and all my fear,
Each lingering shade of gloom.

5
I praise the God of grace,
I trust His truth and might
He calls me His, I call Him mine,
My God, my joy, my light.

6
'Tis He Who saveth me,
And freely pardon gives
I love because He loveth me,
I live because He lives!

Meter: SMD
Text: Timothy Dwight, 1800
Music: CALL TO CHRISTIANS; Fr. J. Roel Lungay, 1994
Piano Arr: TQ Solis, Jr.
Orchestration: Meo Mascariñas

1
I love Thy kingdom, Lord,
The house of Thine abode,
The Church our blest Redeemer saved
With His own precious blood.

2
I love Thy church, O God:
Her walls before Thee stand,
Dear as the apple of Thine eye
And graven on Thy hand.

3
For her my tears shall fall,
For her my prayers ascend;
To her my cares and toils be giv'n,
'Til toils and cares shall end.

4
Beyond my highest joy
I prize her heav'nly ways,
Her sweet communion, solemn vows,
Her hymns of love and praise.

5
Jesus, Thou Friend divine,
Our Savior and our King,
Thy hand from ev'ry snare and foe
Shall great deliv'rance bring.

6
Sure as Thy truth shall last,
To Zion shall be giv'n
The brightest glories earth can yield,
And brighter bliss of heav'n.

Meter: 6 6 6 6
Text: John Ellerton, 1880
Music: Fr. J. Roel Lungay, 1994
Piano Arr. TQ Solis, Jr.
Orchestration: Romeo Mascariñas

1
Hail to the Lord who comes,
Comes to his temple gate,
Not with his angel host,
Not in his kingly state:

2
No shouts proclaim him nigh,
No crowds his coming wait.
But borne upon the throne
Of Mary's gentle breast,

3
Watched by her duteous love,
In her fond arms at rest;
Thus to his Father's house
He comes, the heavenly guest.

4
There Joseph at her side
In reverent wonder stands;
And, filled with holy joy,
Old Simeon in his hands\

5
Takes up the promised child,
The glory of all lands
Hail to the great First-born,
Whose ransom-price they pay,

6
The Son before all worlds,
The child of man to-day,
That he might ransom us
Who still in bondage lay.

7
O Light of all the earth,
Thy children wait for thee:
Come to thy temples here,
That we, from sin set free

Extra:
before thy Father's face
may all presented be.

Piano Arr: TQ Solis, Jr.
Producer: Meo Mascariñas

1
Through devastating storms, through times of heat and drought,
through fire and flood, creation mourns and so cries out.

2
As hot and cold extremes cause overwhelming need,
the earth bears witness to the cost of human greed.

3
We're always wanting more; we spend and build and buy.
To meet our wants, we hurt the poor — till many die.

4
The world that we have built is one we can't sustain,
and all around us, God's creation cries in pain.

5
Creator, by your grace, you give the gift of life —
You entered into time and space in Jesus Christ.

6
Your Spirit makes us strong to tend and heal and lift —
and helps us see creation as a sacred gift.

7
There's no time left to wait! May we be bold to give.
May we plant trees and advocate and gently live —

8
God, as we love the earth and love each other, too,
may we bring hope and healing to this world with you.

1
Out of the deep I call
To Thee, O Lord, to Thee.
Before Thy throne of grace I fall;
Be merciful to me.

2
Out of the deep I cry,
The woeful deep of sin,
Of evil done in days gone by,
Of evil now within.
3
Out of the deep of fear
And dread of coming shame;
All night til morning watch is near
I plead the precious name.

4
Lord, there is mercy now,
As ever was, with Thee.
Before Thy throne of grace I bow;
Be merciful to me.

5
Out of the deep I call
To Thee, O Lord, to Thee.
Before Thy throne of grace I fall;
Be merciful to me.
